Your car. More power. Far more control over your sound. The INE-AX809 combines a familiar 9-inch Alpine display with a stronger Snapdragon platform, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. It adds clear benefits when you want more than everyday navigation: a more capable sound system and internet access without switching on your phone’s hotspot.

Your phone’s familiar features, on a larger screen.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto bring supported maps, music and calls from a compatible phone to the Alpine display. Everyday functions stay within easy reach, while Android apps can also run directly on the head unit. Availability depends on your phone, apps and connection.

See the route. Recognise your surroundings.
Google Maps satellite view helps you recognise the destination and the area around it. An 8-core 2.0 GHz Snapdragon processor and 8 GB RAM provide more headroom for navigation and other apps. The map image is illustrative; satellite imagery is not a live camera feed.

Traffic information through the stereo’s own 4G connection.
Waze and other compatible apps can receive traffic updates through the unit’s 4G/LTE connection. The modem is built into the head unit; a wired SIM-card adapter lets the installer place the slot somewhere accessible, with external LTE antennas connected at the rear. A working SIM and mobile data plan are required. Coverage and services depend on your operator and location.
The CarPlay, Google Maps and Waze images are illustrative AutoDIGI photomontages. App appearance depends on the phone and software. The Mercedes icon does not indicate support for Mercedes-specific vehicle functions.

A familiar 9-inch format. A more capable platform.
The laminated 1280 × 720 HD touchscreen gives maps and menus a clear display. Compared with the INE-AW409S, the AX809 has twice the RAM and four times the storage. Screen resolution stays the same: the upgrade is primarily in processing power, advanced audio control and independent mobile internet.

8 GB + 256 GB. More room for the way you travel.
Android 13 and Google Play let you install compatible navigation, music and other apps. With 256 GB storage, there is more space for downloaded maps, media and applications. Connect through the built-in 4G/LTE modem or Wi-Fi. Some services need an account or subscription, and not every phone app is compatible with an in-car screen.

Tune the sound to your car, not just your music.
The AKM7739 DSP and 48-band parametric equaliser offer much finer control than the AW409S’s 3-band EQ. Six channels each have independently adjustable 48-band EQ, with ±10 dB adjustment across 20 Hz–20 kHz. This helps address acoustic peaks inside the cabin and match speaker response to your listening position.

Outputs for amplifiers, a subwoofer and digital audio.
The optical digital audio output can connect a compatible external sound processor or amplifier. Three configurable pre-outs support front, rear and subwoofer layouts, or a suitable subwoofer/centre-channel configuration. Six-channel digital time correction, high- and low-pass crossovers and selectable slopes help align the system. BASS ENGINE SQ, 3D Virtual Sound and subwoofer level and phase controls add further options. The built-in amplifier is rated at a maximum 4 × 50 W; this is not a continuous RMS rating.

Keep the music playing when reception disappears.
Two rear USB connections support USB media and connected or charging devices. Supported audio formats include FLAC, WAV and AAC. Downloaded files and offline maps do not require continuous mobile coverage. Bluetooth 5.0 supports music streaming and hands-free calls. Watch video only when the vehicle is safely parked.

Connections with room for your system to grow.
The rear panel provides antenna, GPS, LTE and vehicle connections. Camera support covers HDMI, AHD, TVI and composite signals; the correct connection and adapter depend on the camera. Retaining steering-wheel controls and factory equipment depends on your vehicle and fitting kit. Vehicle-specific fascia, CAN interface and factory amplifier or camera adapters are selected separately.

Questions and answers
Why choose the AX809 over the more affordable AW409S?
The AX809 adds processor performance, twice the RAM and four times the storage. Its main audio advantages are DSP, 48-band EQ, time correction, crossovers and more flexible outputs. Mobile internet also works through its own SIM card.
Is the 4G modem a separate USB dongle?
No. The modem is built into the head unit. The SIM adapter and LTE antennas connect by cable to support convenient installation and SIM access. A SIM card and mobile data plan are purchased separately.
Can I connect an external amplifier and subwoofer?
Yes. Configurable pre-outs and an optical output provide expansion options. Wiring, adapters and the external device’s supported signal format must be matched before installation.
Is the 48-band EQ shared by every channel?
The manufacturer specifies six independently adjustable 48-band EQ channels. Channels can be matched individually, with time correction and crossovers available as well.
Which menu languages are available?
The manufacturer lists 22 menu languages. The exact selection depends on the supplied software version and should be checked separately; this description does not promise a particular local menu language. App and phone languages are separate settings.
Will it fit my car?
This is a universal 9-inch head unit. Fit depends on dashboard space, fascia and vehicle connections. Send your car’s make, model, year and a photo of its current stereo so we can identify the fitting kit.
Are the vehicle-specific fascia and adapters included?
The €699 price including VAT covers the head unit and listed standard accessories. Vehicle-specific fascia, wiring, CAN interface and any other required adapters are extra.
Can I run apps without a phone?
Yes. Compatible Android apps run directly on the head unit. Online services require 4G/LTE or Wi-Fi; downloaded media and supported offline maps can work without mobile reception.
